We are incredibly grateful for the support of the North Shore Community Foundation!

A long-time supporter of Avalon Women’s Centre North Shore, Avalon was thrilled to be named as one of two beneficiaries of the North Shore Mayor’s Golf Tournament, hosted by the North Shore Community Foundation and slated to be held on May 22, 2020.

However, like so many other events this year, the North Shore Mayor’s Golf Tournament was unable to move forward on that date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But that didn’t stop the North Shore Community Foundation from providing much-needed support to Avalon Recovery Society.

The NSCF, with the very kind support of the Vancouver Foundation as well as key supporters including Darwin Construction, Adera Development, Western Stevedoring, Neptune Terminals and PARC Retirement recently established a North Shore COVID fund.

Through this fund, they have been able to provide Avalon with a donation of $15,000 to help support our organization during this difficult time when many fundraising events have been cancelled.

These funds will help Avalon continue to provide vital addiction support services to our community, including telephone and online meetings, drop-in support and mandatory PPE and sanitary equipment to keep women safe in the Centre.

We are so thankful to the North Shore Community Foundation and their supporters and partners for their ongoing support of Avalon and women recovering from addiction.
