Nov 9 2020 - R2COVID 19 UPDATE

With the recent COVID-19 health orders provided by Dr. Henry out of BC, we have reviewed our current COVID precautions and have discussed this with the COVID Response Team.  As an essential service to women seeking recovery, we have been encouraged to stay open.  Our current health and safety practices only allow a limited number of women in the centres at any given time (while following safety protocols) and the majority of our meetings are happening online/over the phone.

Most women in our community are choosing to go virtual and attend Zoom meetings or to call in by phone, however, if you prefer to attend in-person meetings (when/where available), it is mandatory to register in advance.  Also, if you wish to have a one-on-one/drop-in, you must contact your local Avalon Women’s Centre by phone or email to book an appointment.

An additional safety measure we will be implementing is temperature screening for all women visiting the centres.  We ask for your cooperation in adhering to all safety practices when entering our centres as we want to keep everyone as safe as possible.

*Please be advised that until further notice, effective immediately, we are cancelling in-person social gatherings like movie nights and closing our Clothing Closet.  We will continue to look for creative ways to provide virtual social events to help us to stay connected.*

Thank you for your understanding and stay safe!
