Frequently Asked Questions

Avalon meetings are for anyone who identifies as a woman, trans-inclusive.

Although we appreciate that individuals may wish to attend as a recovery professional, to respect the anonymity of the women of Avalon, we ask that you contact the Centre Manager.

If you require a support person to attend a meeting with you, as long as they are a woman they are welcome to join.

Meetings hosted virtually via Zoom/phone must be booked on our website. If you do not have access to a computer, you may call the Centre Manager to secure your spot and receive the necessary login information.

To attend a meeting in person, you just show up at the Centre at the meeting time (pre-registration is not required).

We encourage you to join the meeting a minimum of 5 minutes before the start time, however the meeting is open 15 minutes prior to the start time and you may join at that time.

You can book a meeting up to two weeks in advance.

We are excited to announce the return of our coffee and tea service and food may be consumed in the Centre, however we ask you stay respectful and keep your distance when eating.

Thank-you to everyone for working together to keep Avalon a safe place for everyone who needs it.

If you require childminding while you attend a meeting at one of our centres, please call the Centre ahead of time so we can make arrangements.

Yes! Our Clothing Closet is open! We are accepting donations (clothing, shoes, accessories) that are lightly worn at each of our Centres and women in recovery are welcome to visit the Centres for free items.

For meetings, only certified service animals are allowed, and proof of certification is required.
